For character design, I focus on my favorite military theme, inspired by the Battlefield series of games. I have designed four expert roles themed around different soldier types.
They each have distinct features, including unique clothing, body types, and gender differences. This differentiated design helps me expand the depth of character design, giving each character a unique style and function, enhancing both visual appeal and storytelling.
Concept scenes are the most important focus in my practice. I aim to showcase stronger storytelling through these black and white sketches, especially with the combination of characters and props.
By integrating various elements, the composition becomes more vivid and conveys a deeper thematic meaning, akin to a cinematic frame.
Long-format scene art is a key part of my portfolio that I aim to highlight. Compared to smaller sketches, these pieces offer more detailed and expansive visual spaces. I use these canvases as cover art to showcase the depth and atmosphere of the scenes, allowing viewers to more intuitively engage with the story and emotions conveyed.
Using 2D software for firearm design is an excellent way to practice prop design. I use real weapons as references, which not only improves my ability to create accurate shapes but also deepens my understanding of the logical aspects of prop design.
2d vehicle design
For concept art, vehicles often symbolize a culture, level of technology, or character identity.
By practicing vehicle design, concept artists can better enhance the world-building process, making it more vivid and believable.
THE ILLUSTRATION
Practicing illustration can enhance a concept artist's storytelling skills, composition and lighting techniques, personal style expression, and the efficiency of visual presentation and creative communication.
